ABOUT MEGAN KING

Megan is pursuing her Master of Social Work at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. As a second year MSW student, Megan is specializing in Clinical Mental Health. She has experience as an ARMHS (Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services) practitioner at a community mental health nonprofit in Minneapolis. As an ARMHS practitioner, she learned to work with individuals to build skills, live independently, and make decisions in line with their values.

 

Megan has experience with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), and is passionate about combining therapeutic modalities with bottom-up sensory processing and mindfulness. Megan is committed to co-creating a safe space for self-exploration, vulnerability, and processing past experiences to find a way forward. She believes the relationship between a client and their therapist is the most valuable therapeutic tool. She uses her humor and compassion to walk alongside people in challenging times.
