ABOUT DR. NATASHA PAREKH

THERAPY APPROACH

Natasha's treatment approach starts with the goal of building a relationship with both the child and their parents. Natasha draws strongly from behavioral/cognitive-behavioral approaches and utilizes a family systems perspective when designing treatment plans. Some evidence-based practices she uses include behavior management training, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), and cognitive restructuring. Natasha creates a relaxed, comfortable, and light-hearted atmosphere while often incorporating humor into her practice. At the same time, her approach is solution-focused and she encourages clients to actively engage in treatment goals in order to experience measurable behavioral changes. Natasha encourages feedback every step of the way to ensure the client is feeling his/her needs are being addressed. Finally, Natasha strongly believes that the purpose of therapy is not only to address symptoms, but to improve overall well-being and enhance quality of life through positive psychology and mindfulness-based practices. At this time, Natasha is offering in person and telehealth (audiovisual) therapy sessions.
