GROUP SKILLS COURSES
​​​DBT Skills Course for Teens:
This is not a processing group, but rather a skills course to help you to develop four major skills:

Distress Tolerance: Helps people tolerate negative emotions by calmly recognizing negative situations and their impact

Emotion regulation: Helps people manage their feelings and reduce emotional intensity, which can help avoid harmful behaviors and emotions

Interpersonal effectiveness: Helps people communicate in healthy ways and develop more stable relationships by teaching them how to assert themselves and set boundaries

Mindfulness: Helps people focus on the present moment and observe their thoughts and emotions without judgment ​​​​​​​

Age: 13-17 and we will make case by case determinations about fit based on client maturity etc. The teen group does not include parents.
When: This summer- dates TBD
Where: In-Person at Novo Behavioral Health
Cost: $50/session, DBT Lite 12-week group. This service is not covered by insurance.

Requirements: Is engaging in individual therapy (at Novo or another clinic)

Social Skills Group:
Child and adolescent years are a time of social change and growth. Develop strong social skills in order to be successful in building and maintaining positive relationships. Learn the following skills: building self esteem, conversation skills, reading others, perspective taking and empathy, conflict resolution, friendship, bullying, peer pressure and navigating social media. There will be two group cohorts, with age appropriate material.
