RILEY ROBERTSON, MS

THERAPY APPROACH

Riley’s journey into the field of mental health counseling is deeply informed by her experience as an elementary educator, where she spent several years working closely with children. This background has provided Riley with a profound understanding of the developmental, emotional, and academic challenges that children, adolescents, and young adults face, making her skilled at supporting young clients in navigating these critical stages of life. In addition to her work with children and adolescents, Riley specializes in parent coaching for families navigating challenges related to ADHD, defiance, anxiety, ASD, and behavioral concerns. She is trained in parent focused evidence-based approaches such as Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), parent behavior management training, and SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) to empower parents with effective strategies for fostering positive relationships and supporting their child’s emotional and behavioral development.

Riley also specializes in treating anxiety, depression, ADHD related concerns, and relationship issues in adolescents, teens, and young adults. In individual therapy, Riley primarily utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She prioritizes building strong therapeutic relationships and creating an affirming and safe environment that empowers clients to take an active role in their mental health journey. Riley is dedicated to helping clients develop emotional regulation skills, distress tolerance, acceptance, and promotes values-based living. Her approach is driven by a passion for helping clients not only overcome challenges but also build the confidence to navigate future obstacles with strength and clarity.
