ELLA DICKSON
THERAPY APPROACH
Ella’s path to the field of clinical social work began during her early volunteer work at a children’s hospital, where she saw firsthand the power of witnessing children in their difficult time and offering them connection, care, and choice. Since then, she has worked in healthcare and nonprofit settings, including supporting high-risk families in a primary care clinic and working at a youth development research nonprofit to equip professionals with strategies to strengthen relationships with young people.
Her experience includes providing psychosocial assessments, coordinating care plans, advocating for access to mental health and community resources, offering support to youth and families following screenings for emotional or mental health concerns, and addressing barriers related to social determinants of health.
Ella approaches her work with the belief that humans are the experts of their own lives, and possess the unique ability to learn from, resolve, and grow from their struggles when they are fully seen, heard, affirmed and supported by providing encouragement, perspective, and practical tools. Guided by a holistic perspective, Ella believes that true healing comes from caring for the whole person—mind, body, emotions, relationships, and environment, because each is deeply connected to overall well-being. Her style blends warmth, humor, and a calm presence with practical tools, creating a safe space where children, teens, and families can strengthen relationships to themselves and to others, build resilience, and explore new possibilities together. Ella enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults.
